250 Pakistanis languishing in Malaysia jails to return home

Approximately 250 Pakistani nationals languishing in different jails in Malaysia will be brought back to Pakistan on New Year as part of an initiative undertaken by the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis.

The arrangements have been made through PIA Special flight number B773-PK9894 which will arrive Islamabad from kualalampur at 06:40am on 31.12.2019. Malaysian Government grants amnesty to the stranded detainees every year.

Special Instructions were given to the Pakistani High Commission by the Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) Zulfi Bukhari to mobilize all resources to bring back maximum Pakistani prisoners after registering them under the Malaysian Royal Amnesty Scheme. Most of these prisoners were stranded due to expiry of Visas.

Earlier this year, 320 Pakistani nationals have already been repatriated which makes a total of 8,190 Pakistani nationals released by Malaysian authorities till date.
