ISLAMABAD: Federal Planning Minister Asad Umar has said that the ratio of Coronavirus in educational institutions continues to be stable below two percent.
Taking to Twitter on Thursday, Asad Umar wrote: “A significant build up in covid testing was done to carry out sentinel testing at educational institutions in order to identify early trends, if any.”
As a result, 42,299 tests were carried out yesterday which is by far the highest ever and positivity ratio continued to be stable below 2%, he added.
Meanwhile, Pakistan recorded 799 new Coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, the highest single-day increase since August 8.
According to the National Command and Operation Centre, another five people died from the virus, taking the national tally to 6, 437. As of September 24, 548 people remain critical after being infected with the Covid-19.
Sindh remains the worst-hit province with 134,845 cases, followed by Punjab which has recorded 98, 686 positive cases so far.
Out of 3, 308, 217 cases, 294, 392 have recovered from the deadly disease.
