ISLAMABAD- Information and Broadcasting Minister Shibli Faraz has called upon the public to strictly adhere to the government’s guidelines aimed at containing the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
His appeal came as the National Command and Operation Centre reported 3,499 new Coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours – its highest daily increase since July 3. It also recorded the death of 39 people.
“The second wave of Corona has intensified, positive cases are on the rise,” noted Shibli Faraz tweeted a tweet on Thursday.
“In the first wave of Corona, Prime Minister Imran Khan has adopted a successful strategy of prioritizing the lives and jobs of the people, which is appreciated by the world. More effective measures are being taken for stemming the second wave,” he said.
He urged the public to strictly adhere to the SOPs in view of the second wave of the pandemic.
“Care should be taken to ensure that both the health and employment of the people are not affected,” he added.
