The Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) has approved the nomination of renowned lawyer Babar Sattar as additional judges of the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed presided over the meeting which considered the recommendation of Babar Sattar and Tariq Jahangir sent by IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah.
The commission approved both the nominations, Express Tribune reported.
According to the report, some JCP members initially raised certain reservations on the two nominees but ultimately, all members agreed to the recommended names.
Law Minister Dr Farogh Naseem reportedly could not attend the meeting because of coronavirus infection.
