Pakistan offers visas to Afghan journalists, families

Kunduz mosque attack has reportedly resulted in loss of innumerable precious lives and injuries to many others.

Pakistan said Sunday that it was offering visas to Afghan journalists and their families fleeing the uncertain situation in the war-torn country.

Taking to Twitter, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Kabul Mansoor Ahmed Khan announced that journalists willing to leave Afghanistan could apply for Pakistani visa.

As the crisis within Afghanistan unfolds and the Taliban prepare to take over the Afghan capital, Kabul-based embassies and consulates of international countries are closing and telling their nationals to leave the country.

“We are specially facilitating visas for Afghan journalists & families in this period of uncertainty. Media people needing visas may contact Press Counsellor at WhatsApp 00923222807683 and they will be facilitated,” Khan tweeted.

Earlier, Khan had denied rumours that Pakistani consulates were closing and had informed that the process of issuing visas had been shifted online due to the pandemic.
