NEW YORK: Prime Minister Khan arrived in New York on Saturday for a week-long official visit to attend the UN General Assembly session of the United Nations.

Tensions between India and Pakistan soared on August 5 when New Delhi revoked Article 370 of the Indian constitution. The article recognised Kashmir as a special territory.

India revoked the article and moved in a huge amount of troops in the occupied valley. A communications blockade is in place in the occupied territory. People from the occupied valley haven’t spoken to their relatives since 48 days.

Pakistan reacted strongly to the news, downgrading ties with New Delhi and suspending trade with India.
