Pakistan sees record surge in coronavirus cases as count nears 15000

ISLAMABAD: The number of confirmed coronavirus infections in Pakistan soared to 14,885 with a record addition of 806 cases in the last 24 hours.

According to the National command and Operation Centre, 8,530 tests were carried out cross Pakistan on Tuesday and out of them 806 tested positive for coronavirus.

The death toll has also jumped to 327 with 26 fatalities. So far 3,452 people have recovered from the covid-19.

There are presently 5,827 cases in Punjab, 5291 in Sindh, 2160 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 915 in Balochistan 853 and 287 in Islamabad Capital Territory.

Gilgit-Baltistan has reported 330 and Azad Kashmir has 65 confirmed cases.
