COVID-19 pandemic: Pakistan pays tribute to brave healthcare providers

Pakistani doctors, nurses, and paramedics have emerged as the most-affected ones by COVID-19 among their healthcare peers, according to a May 4 situation report by the World Health Organization (WHO),

In these trying times, Pakistan is honouring the people who have been working tirelessly and putting their lives at risk to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, such as the nurses and doctors.

In Islamabad, the police force saluted COVID-19 workers during a ceremony to applaud the selfless work that doctors, nurses and sanitary staff workers do day in and day out.

Hospitals in Lahore, such as the Services Hospital, have organised events to honour their medical staff in the fight against COVID-19.

Citizens waved fight flags while the representatives of the Pakistan Boy Scouts association staged processions to honour the frontline workers. A special event was also organised at Police Services Hospital Peshawar on Sunday.

Police officials honoured medical workers by performing a guard-of-honour and raising white flags in
acknowledgment and gratitude of the services and sacrifices given by doctors, nurses and the rest of the medical staff.
