Pakistan records highest single day spike in coronavirus deaths

ISLAMABAD: Another 4646 coronavirus cases have been reported in Pakistan over the last 24 hours taking the nationwide tally to 108,317.

The death toll from the virus stands at 2172 with 105 people succumbing to the disease in the last 24 hours.

Presently, there are 40,819 cases in Punjab, 39,555 in Sindh, 14,006 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 6788 in Balochistan, 5785 in Islamabad, 952 Gin ilgit-Baltistan and 412 in Azad Kashmir.

In addition, 35,018 patients have so far recovered from the covid-19.

Meanwhile, a meeting of Federal Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan is in progress in Islamabad.

It is discussing overall political and economic situation of the country. Budgetary proposals for the next fiscal year will also come under discussion.

The meeting will also review the steps taken to stifle the spread of coronavirus.
