Pakistan reports 136 virus deaths, 4,933 new cases

ISLAMABAD: At least 136 people have died from the coronavirus across Pakistan in the last 24 hours, taking the overall tally of fatalities to 3, 229.

The number of positive cases in the country has surged to 165,062, according to the latest figures released by the National Command and Operation Center.

A total of 4,944 people tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

Sindh has become the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of cases followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

As of Friday, July 19, the are 62,269 coronavirus cases in Sindh, 61,678 in Punjab, 20,182 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 8,998 in Balochistan, 9,941 in Islamabad, 1,225 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 769 in Azad Kashmir.

So far 61, 383 people have recovered from the deadly disease.
