Aamir Khan working on ‘Taare Zameen Par’ sequel
Bollywood star Aamir Khan is gearing up to work on his next film slated to be a sequel to 2007 hit ‘Taare Zameen Par’.
It’s being reported that the Mr Perfectionist has teamed up with director RS Prassana for a project said to be an official adaptation of the Spanish film ‘Champions’.
The tentative title of the film is ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ which has given credence to rumours that he is currently working on a sequel to his 2007 hit film ‘Taare Zameen Par’.
A source told the an Indian media outlet about the project, “The basic plot of the film is about a sports coach bonding with and training a team of specially-abled kids, much like Taare Zameen Par, which chronicled the journey of a teacher and a specially-abled student.
“The interpersonal relationships in the film and the evolution of lead characters are also very much like the cult classic, which led to Aamir and the team zeroing down on the title Sitaare Zameen Par.”
Earlier it was said that child actor Darsheel Safary, who featured in ‘Taare Zameen Par’ with Aamir Khan, wants to do more films with the superstar.
“I’m very much in touch with Aamir uncle. I keep taking advice from him as to what roles should I do and what I shouldn’t. In fact, when I was preparing for Abhay’s role, I drew inspiration from Aamir’s character in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak,” Darsheel said in a statement.
“My career in the industry so far, has been shaped by him. He is my mentor. My dream is to do more films with him as I look up to him,” he added.
