ISLAMABAD: After demonstrating its political might in Gujranwala, Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) is set to stage its second anti-government rally in Karachi on Sunday.
PDM is a newly formed alliance of opposition parties who aim to oust army-backed Imran Khan government from power.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Maryam Nawaz, Maulana Fazlur Rehman and other top opposition leaders are scheduled to address the rally.
Bilawal, who visited the venue to see the arrangements, told media persons that no institution was free in Pakistan.
Benazir Bhutto had returned to Pakistan on October 18 and fought till the end, Bilawal recalled, adding the entire country will see the people on one side and the puppet administration on the other.
PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz has said that she and her party leaders are not afraid of being arrested. She told that campaign against the incumbent government of PTI was getting decisive.
While responding to a question regarding Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan’s decision to not issue production orders, Maryam Nawaz said that those who think that VIP protocols are being given to the political leaders in jails are wrong.
Sindh government spokesperson Murtaza Wahab declared PDM rally in Karachi as public referendum and said the case of 22 crore people of Pakistan will be fought on streets.
“Laborers and the poor are being exploited and unemployment is increasing in the country. Public has been crushed by inflation. The federal government bothered to care about coronavirus and standard operating procedures (SOPs) today.
