Alarm bells ringing as Pakistan’s positivity ratio crosses 7%

ISLAMABAD: Alarm bells started ringing for Pakistan on Tuesday as the country’s coronavirus positivity ratio crossed 7% when more than 2,500 people tested positive for the virus on Monday.

According to data from the National Command and Operation Centre, 58 people died due to the coronavirus on Monday while 2,511 tested positive for the virus.

The fresh round of cases raises the active number of coronavirus cases to 23,355 after 35,303 persons were tested for the virus a day earlier.

On the good news side, as many as 573,014 people in total have recovered from the virus as of yet. As many as 609,964 cases of the virus have been detected so far (AJK 11089, Balochistan 19233, GB 4961, ICT 48495, KP 76379, Punjab 188225, Sindh 261582), said the NCOC.
