Ali Sadpara’s body found at K2 bottleneck: social media reports

The body of legendary mountain climber Ali Sadpara has been found at the K2 bottleneck, 300 metre down, as per various reports on social media.

“Body of Legendary Climber/Pride of Pakistan/National Hero – Muhammad Ali Sadpra Shaheed found 300m down at K2 bottleneck along with Chile’s Juan Pablo Mohr Prieto body but, unfortunately Iceland’s John Snorri’s body not yet found,” tweeted broadcast journalist Faisal Raza Khan.

Alpine Adventure Guides also tweeted the same news on social media.

Ali Sadpara’s son, Sajid Sadpara, had declared the legendary mountaineer dead in Febeuray this year after he went missing.

“I will keep my father’s mission alive and fulfil his dream,” he had said.

He had also thanked Prime Minister Imran Khan, Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa and the courageous pilots of the Askari Aviation for conducting a thorough search and rescue operation amid the harsh weather for his father.

Sadpara, Iceland’s John Snorri and Chile’s Juan Pablo Mohr had departed for their journey on February 3 after Sadpara’s birthday, asking fans and admirers to “keep us in your prayers”.
