All Pakistan Restaurant Association presents list of demands for Foodpanda

Waqaz Azeem, the spokesperson for the All Pakistan Restaurant Associations said on Saturday that presented their list of demands for the online food delivery service.

Azeem said that the fundamental demand was that restaurants will retain their original vendor delivery and will not fire its employees.

“If I fire my employees, Foodpanda won’t hire them, will they,” he asked, adding that some of the riders that were employed by the association were those who were too old to do their jobs.

“However, we have retained them for us as their households are running,” he said.

He then said that it was not feasible to charge hefty commissions. “You need to make global [operations] understand that a 30% commission won’t do,” he said. “This model will not work in Pakistan, overnight changing commissions will not work,” he added.
