Anushka Sharma, Virat Kohli welcome son

Indian cricketer Virat Kohli and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma surprised everyone with the news of their second child.

In a joint statement, the couple announced the arrival of their baby boy Akaay who was born on February 15.

“With abundant happiness and our hearts full of love, we are pleased to inform everyone that on 15th February, we welcomed our baby boy Akaay, Vamika’s little brother into this world! We seek your blessings and good wishes in this beautiful time in our lives. We request you to kindly respect our privacy at this time. Love and gratitude, Virat & Anushka,” they said.

Soon after they shared the post, several celebrities reached out in the comment section to congratulate the couple including Ranveer Singh, Sonam Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh, Shweta Bachchan and Huma Qureshi, among others.

There were already rumours that Anushka Sharma was going to deliver her baby at a hospital in London. This was confirmed after Virat was snapped walking on the streets of London. 

Rumours of Anushka’s pregnancy had been swirling since last year. But the actress neither confirmed nor denied them as she joined Virat at various cricket matches across India.

Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli married in 2017 in an intimate ceremony in Italy. They welcomed their daughter Vamika on January 11, 2021.

The actress, who was last seen in a lead role in the 2018 film Zero, has also been gearing up for the release of her Netflix film Chakda ‘Xpress.
