KARACHI: The metropolis has been witnessing a rise in COVID-19 cases ever since educational institutions have reopened across the country, according to the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC).
On Wednesday, the NCOC reported 365 out of 747 COVID-19 cases had emerged from Karachi. The spike in the infection in Karachi caught the NCOC’s attention, with the body calling a meeting on Wednesday morning to discuss measures to contain the infection.
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Health Dr Faisal Sultan reportedly emphasised smart lockdown, contact tracing and a strict adherence to health protocols.
Sindh secretary said that the province was monitoring the situation, adding that it would take necessary measures to contain the spike,
