Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Wednesday asked Pakistan Army troops to stay vigilent, as incidences of terrorism rise across the country.
The army chief was speaking to troops at the Upper Dir Malakand division where he laid stress upon the importance of defeating militants. Gen Bajwa said that the enemy of the nation was known yesterday and it was the same today.
“We will not rest until we bring terrorists and their facilitators to their logical conclusion,” he said.
The army chief lamented the terrorist attack that took place at the Peshawar madressah a few days ago, saying that militants were targeting law enforcement agencies and innocent civilians.
He cautioned the Afghan muhajireen to stay away from terrorists so that they are not used knowingly or unknowingly in any terrorist activities.
“Afghan refugees will have to stay alert regarding militants so they are not used, knowingly or unknowingly, in any terrorist incident,” said Gen Bajwa.
The army chief later paid a visit to the Lady Reading Hospital where victims of the bomb blast are being treated. He inquired after their health during the tour of the hospital.
