Bilawal endorses Balochistan’s views on lockdown extension

KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that Balochistan government’s decision to extend lockdown for another 15 days was in accordance with the ground situation and endorsed its views that “So far the only effective defence against corona has proven to be isolation, social distancing and lockdown.”

In a statement issued here on Tuesday, Bilawal stressed that the federal government should help Balochistan government in increasing and establishing its testing capacity, isolation and quarantine centers through logistic support so that the country’s poorest and largest province could cope with the alarming conditions, it is facing alongside other provinces.

He further demanded that cash transfers should be made immediately similar to BISP, to Covid affectees mainly the daily wagers, unemployed and the most deserving people.
