ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Interior Brig (retd) Ijaz Ahmad Shah visited National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) on 12th February, 2020.
He was welcomed by National Coordinator NACTA, Mehr Khaliq Dad Lak.
“The honorable Minister dilated upon the significance of NACTA’s role in counter terrorism and extremism and re-emphasized the need to strengthen NACTA” He was speaking to the officials of NACTA during his visit.
The National Coordinator, NACTA briefed the Minister on administrative and operational matters of NACTA.
Federal Minister for Interior Brig (R) Ijaz Ahmad Shah also listened to the concerns of the department and assured all possible assistance from the Ministry of Interior.
He was also apprised about the ongoing initiatives and future roadmap to further optimize outreach of NACTA in the realm of counter terrorism and extremism, to which he said that this was a very important task to do and in current context, this area must be given due consideration.
The Federal Minister was presented with copies of recently published Annual Threat Assessment Review 2019, Annual Policy Review 2019, Annual Research Journal 2019 and NACTA’s Administration Report 2019 currently prepared by NACTA.
The Department aims to do further expert level research in the upcoming year. “This is a great initiative and I really appreciate that you have come up with such organized publications on policy and relevant areas of research” the Federal Minister for Interior, Ijaz Ahmad Shah said. “It is heartening to see that conceptual research papers material is being produced here that will assist in policy formulation/updation” he added.
The Honorable Minister said that NACTA is a greatly conceived idea in the form of an organization and he appreciated the achievements of NACTA and extended his full support and cooperation in making this premier national body to be more vibrant and dynamic.
