Dr Aurangzeb, a renowned neurosurgeon who has been practicing independently for the past 15 years, recently sat down with Positive Media Communications (PMC) to talk about the medical field in Pakistan and its implications in society.
Dr Aurangzeb has practical experience in his field over the past 10 years and has been treating brain tumors, brain injuries, spinal tumors, spinal injuries and neurological disorder associated with children.
Making a name for himself in the field of neurosurgery was not an easy task. For that, Dr Aurangzeb had to study and he had to study a lot. “I did my MBBS from the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, Jamshoro then I did a house job from Karachi’s Civil Hospital,” he said.
He then went on to secure his postgraduate FCPS training from PIMS Islamabad and JPMC in Karachi. “I have been qualified FCPS degree from the renowned Institute CPSP Pakistan. I am associate of (EANS) European Associations of Neurological Surgery Society,” added Dr Aurangzeb.
When asked about the key ingredients of success that were needed to succeed in the field, he said that they were “handwork , competency, dedication, an eternal love for my work and humanitarian services are key secrets of successful career.”
When asked whether he had any advice for the youngsters joining the field, Dr Aurangzeb cautioned them that it was a “tough” field. “A person should be highly dedicated not only in academics but also practical work plus develop skills and upgrade them from time to time,” he said.
He had high hopes from the medical field but said that there was still room for improvement. “Pakistan is still progressing at brisk pace, in medical field undoubtedly medically are better than many other countries but we still have room for improvement and more public hospital are needed as per need of population.”
