Prominent doctor and the driving force behind the Lady Dufferin Hospital in Karachi, Dr Faridoon Setna, passed away on Saturday night.
The news was broken on social media by PPP senator Sherry Rehman in a tweet. Rehman spoke highly of Setna’s contributions and philanthropic ventures, terming his death a huge loss for the country.
Many others followed suit.
Heartbroken that old friend,comrade, doctor, and humanitarian par excellence, Dr Faridoon Setna passed away. His philanthropy was legendary.Spent years rebuilding the Lady Dufferin Hospital and chairing its charitable Trust with him, for him to run with integrity& compassion. RIP

Sindh government spokesperson Murtaza Wahab reacted to the tragic news, saying that Dr Setna was his family’s doctor for several years and people from all strata of the society used to visit his clinic for treatment for their ailments.
