Erdogan’s visit to boost Pakistan-Turkey bilateral ties: PM Imran

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan said Monday that Turkish President Erdogan’s visit to the country will boost bilateral ties between Pakistan and Turkey, according to Radio Pakistan.

This was said by the prime minister while he was chairing a high-level meeting on arrangements for the Turkish president’s visit. Erdogan is scheduled to visit Pakistan on February 13 and is likely to stay in the country till February 14.

During the course of his stay, the president will hold talks with Pakistani parliamentarians. He will also address the parliament on February 14.

PM Imran visited Turkey in January 2019, a few months after he was elected prime minister. He visited Maulana Rumi’s mausoleum in Turkey and afterwards, held a one-on-one meeting with Erdogan. The two leaders discussed bilateral relations between Pakistan and Turkey as well as the regional, international situation.

The prime minister appreciated Erdogan for standing beside Pakistan and speaking out against Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir.

The Prime Minister directed Minister for Economic Affairs Muhammad Hammad Azhar to ensure implementation of bilateral agreements, which will be signed during Turkish president’s meetings with Pakistani leadership.
