EU body asks India to lift Kashmir curfew, end press blackout

The European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs has called for the Indian government to immediately lift curfew in occupied Kashmir that has created humanitarian crisis in the held territory.

Expressing serious concern over the continued lockdown, suspension of all communication means and media blackout in the held valley, the European Parliament strongly criticized India and condemned the Modi-led government for its brutal action that has brought life to standstill in occupied Kashmir.

Raising their voice for the oppressed Kashmiris, Members of the European Parliament also demanded India to start dialogue with Pakistan.

They said that the European Union and the European Parliament should issue a reactionary statement on the situation in occupied Kashmir at the earliest.
