Pakistan Govt allocates Rs 10 billion for Turkey’s aid

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that Pakistan will help Turkey during the testing times and not leave them alone. The Pakistan Premier spoke to the media, today, February 10th, from the Lahore airport while relief goods were being transported to Turkey. He said that he spoke with the Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on the day this disastrous event occurred and has promised him full support.
The PM also highlighted the support Pakistan got from Turkey during the 2005 earthquake in Pakistan

He said, “A committee has been formed to send funds to Turkey. 1,486 tonnes of relief goods are being sent to Turkey and Syria.”

The Prime Minister also urged people to contribute whole heartedly for the cause and said that 13 centres along with a Prime Minister Relief fund have been formed to collect funds for the same.

Turkey and Syria were hit a devastating earthquake of 7.8 magnitude on Monday which has costed the lives of around 21,000 people which is increasing by the hour and the loss of infrastructure including buildings which has left thousands of people homeless in the freezing cold weather. People are trying to search for their loved ones, however with every passing minute, their hope of finding them alive is slowly fading.
