FIA reports rise in cases of blackmail, harassment of women in South Punjab

MULTAN: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has reported a rise in cases of sexual harassment and blackmail of women on Friday over the past couple of months.

According to a report submitted by the agency, the FIA Cyber Crime Wing said that it received 50 complaints from women regarding harassment and blacmail.

The FIA spokesperson said that 10 cases have been registered against the complaints and as many as 13 persons have been arrested in connection with the complaints. Inquiries are being conducted in the case of 25 complaints.

“Fifteen complaints have been dismissed on account of lack of evidence,” he said.
