Former fast bowler Wasim Akram celebrates 55th birthday

Former fast bowler Wasim Akram, arguably the most lethal fast bowler to ever play the sport, is celebrating his 55th birthday today.

He captained Pakistan to many victories in ODI and Test formats of the game, taking the country to the 1999 World Cup final where the green shirts haplessly lost to Australia.

The PCB has also wished the former Pakistan Captain on his birthday.

The ICC paid tribute to Akram by sharing a video of his match-winning bowling from the 1992 World Cup final.

Waqar Younis tweeted a Birthday Wish for his Fellow companion as well.

Rob Moody shared a video from the past of the “dream cricketer” bowling an unplayable yorker to a West Indies batsman.

The Cricketer shared a medley of Akram deliveries that terrorized batsmen around the globe.

Apart from all cricketers, and fans sending him Birthday wishes, his wife Shaniera Akram took it to Instagram and Twitter to pen down a beautiful birthday wish for her Husband.

Using social media to express how grateful she is for being his companion over the years, Shaniera posted an adorable picture of the couple sharing a moment of laughter together.

“Heroes come and go but legends are forever! You truly are an inspiration to not only our little family but to the world. You prove that age is only a number and that it’s possible to keep getting better with time,” she posted.

Akram took 916 international wickets and scored 6,615 runs. He is the only Pakistani bowler to take four hat-tricks in international cricket and of course, his crowning achievement, being a member of the 1992 World Cup Winning squad.
