Four troops martyred, seven terrorists killed in Datta Khel raid: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Four Pakistan troops embraced martyrdom while seven terrorists were killed during an intense exchange of fire in North Waziristan on Wednesday.

The deadly clash took place in Datta Khel area of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa district, according to the ISPR.

Acting on a tip-off, security forces raided a terrorist hideout in Mama Ziarat, seven kilometers soutwest of Datta Khel, leading to a gunbattle.

Seven terrorists were killed in the firefight.

Four security forces personnel embraced shahadat including an officer, while 1 soldier got injured.

Large cache of arms, ammunition & IEDs recovered from hideout during clearance.

The martyrs were identified as:
1. Lieutenant Agha Muqadas Ali khan , age 26 years resident of Lahore.
2. Lance Havaldar Qamar Nadeem, Age 36 years, resident of Layyah, married, survived by wife , 2 sons & a daughter.
3. Sepoy Muhammad Qasim, age 24 years, resident of Layyah.
4. Sepoy Tauseef, age 23 years resident of Narowal.
