ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health Dr Zafar Mirza on Thursday said the government was taking special precautions to ensure that the novel coronavirus was contained and did not spread to other parts of the country.
He was speaking to media after chairing an emergency core group meeting in the capital. Dr Mirza said screening was being carried out across airports to ensure those with the virus were identified. He said 760,000 passengers had been screened at airports.
The prime minister’s aide said that separate rooms were created in hospitals to isolate those who were diagnosed with the pandemic.
Zafar Mirza said only five Coronavirus cases have so far been reported in the country.
