The HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 8 is set to begin on February 13th. This time around the opening match will be held in Multan and the performers of the opening ceremony have been revealed. As per the sources, singers Sahir Ali Bagga and Aima Baig have been finalized to perform at the opening ceremony. For the first time since the inception of this tournament, Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) technology will be incorporated in the opening ceremony to enhance the overall experience.
Earlier it was announced that the singers Asim Azhar, Shae Gill and Faris Shafi will be singing this year’s PSL anthem to ‘take the PSL anthem to the next level.’
The chairman of the PCB interim committee Najam Sethi has promised to make PSL ‘bigger and better’ this year. With the intention to ‘revamp PSL as a brand’ the Najam Sethi and his team has increased the budget of this year’s PSL to $1 million from $ 100,000.
This year the PSL will be held in four cities, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan and Karachi. While the opening match will be played at the Multan Cricket Stadium, Multan, the final will be played at the Gaddafi Stadium Lahore on 19th March.
