Islamabad-Quetta match postponed after Fawad Ahmed tests positive

The match between Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators was rescheduled after Islamabad United’s international import Fawad Ahmed tested positive for coronavirus on Monday.

The match will now be played on Tuesday.

Test results of both Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United squads have come back negative, according to Pakistan Cricket Board.

“This is being done to ensure players from both sides get time to prepare for the game. Tickets will be valid for tomorrow,” PCB said in a statement.

The Pakistan Cricket Boar, said that the match will would be played at the same time tomorrow — 7pm.

Moreover, the PCB, announcing a piece of good news for the fans, said that the tickets would be valid for tomorrow.

Following the incident, Ahmed asked everyone to remember him in their prayers, as he thanked people for their kind messages.

According to PCB protocol, the player tested positive, will remain in isolation until he returns with two negative results in 10 days time.

A night before PSL kicked off on February 20, a player had tested positive for the coronavirus, the PCB had confirmed, adding that he had earlier showed symptoms of COVID-19 and stayed in isolation.
