ISLAMABAD: PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto lashed out at Prime Minister Imran Khan over his handling of violent protests held by Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan following the arrest of its emir Saad Hussain Rizvi.
In a Twitter statement on Tuesday, Bilawal Bhutto regretted that PM Khan had not taken the house into confidence during the crisis.
He was of the view that the prime minister wanted to hide behind NA by acceding to a TLP demand to table a resolution regarding expulsion of the French envoy.
“Agreement wasnt brought to NA, Govt took action on streets, then banned, people killed, over 500 policemen injured, closed internet, PM didn’t make statement in NA, didnt take NA into confidence at any stage. Now PTI wants to hide behind NA. It’s your mess PM, clean up or go home,” he said.
His statement came shortly after government agreed to move a resolution in the National Assembly seeking a vote on the proposed expulsion of the French ambassador.
The government also released TLP leader Saad Hussain Rizvi after three rounds of talks with the TLP, which was recently banned by the government for engaging in terrorism.
