Karachi’s progress to result in Pakistan’s development: PM Imran

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday said that if Karachi developed then it meant that Pakistan prospered, speaking to an event through video link.

The prime minister was supposed to attend an event in Karachi where he was supposed to inaugurate a couple of projects. However, bad weather delayed the prime minister’s visit to the city. Hence, he proceeded to address participants of the event via video link.

PM Imran said that it was impossible to fix the city’s problems from funds that were allocated to provinces. He said that in the past, almost half of Punjab’s budget was spent on Lahore. “As a result, other cities of the provinces suffered,” eh said.

He said that around the world, cities were elected by the people. They had their own governments and were tasked to collect revenue and improve the standard of living of their citizens. He laid special emphasis on Karachi’s development, saying that its progress meant Pakistan will benefit.

“Karachi’s development means Pakistan progresses,” said the prime minister. “I would like to ask Imran Ismail to inform people about the development projects that we will initiate for Sindh in general and Karachi in particular,” he said.
