Kashmir Premier League being held in Muzaffarabad Cricket stadium in the Azad and Jammu Kashmir is now getting global recognition according to president Taimoor Khan. The league has already broken viewership records on the digital media and has now become a “global premier league”
While talking to Geo News in Muzaffarabad Taimoor Khan admitted to the fact that they had mistakes when it came to hosting the event and stated that they will work on it next year.
Kotli Lions’ skipper Kamran Akmal also stated that this was a big event to promote both cricket and tourism in Kashmir and it was an essential platform to boost the local talent of Kashmir. He stated that now as it is getting global each, more international players will be willing to join and even the central contract players would get a chance to be part of the league.
KPL receives nationwide recognition
The Kashmir Premier League’s first season has also received nationwide recognition just like the Pakistan Super League. With over 5.6 million views on the first day itself, the league became Pakistan’s most-watched live sports event launch on the digital platform.
Within the first five matches itself, the league had become successful and bagged 15 million views in just three days with Rawalakot Hawks (Afridi led side) and Mirpur Royals (led by Shoaib Malik) had taken the spotlight as the most-watched match of any tournament on digital media in Pakistan.
