KPL 2021: Hawks win thriller against Tigers

Muzaffarabad: The Rawalakot Hawks won their nail-biting match against the Muzaffarabad tigers by just one run in the seventh match of the ongoing first edition of the Kashmir Premier League (KPL) at the Muzaffarabad Stadium on Monday.

Hussain Talat was the star of the night as he displayed a mighty batting performance of 69-runs off just 46 deliveries with six boundaries and three sixes.

The Lala-led side set a 175 run target which was chased by the tigers but they were short of one run as they scored 174/8 in 20 overs.

Muhammad Hafeez, captain of Muzaffarabad Tigers displayed a captain’s innings as he scored 44/31 balls but could not get to the victory. Zeeshan Ashraf also put up an excellent show of batting by scoring 38/20 balls but all went to vain.

While Sohaib Maqsood scored 22-runs.

The Hawks played with confidence from the start of the match. After Talat and Shehzad remained consistent with Ahmed Shehzad scoring a half-ton off 33 balls followed by Mohammad Imran added 40 runs off just 23 balls.

While from the losing side, Tigers, Zaman Khan was the star performer as he took three crucial wickets, while Asif Afridi and Imran Randhawa claimed two wickets each.

From Hawks, Mohammad Wasim Jnr. Claimed three wickets and gave off 26 runs in his 4-over spell. Arshad Iqbal claimed two wickets.
