KARACHI: Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) will finalize its plans today (Monday) to stage a protest outside the office of Election Commission of Pakistan in Islamabad.
PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz has traveled from Lahore to the federal capital to attend the PDM’s meeting.
PDM head Maulana Fazlur Rehman will preside over the meeting which to chalk out a strategy to protest the delay on part of the commission in a foreign funding case involving the ruling party.
Quoting sources, Geo reported that Maryam will start her rally from Nawaz Sharif Park Rawalpindi and reach Kashmir Chowk after passing through various areas of the city on January 19.
She will be joined by other PDM leaders at Kashmir Chowk in the form of rallies.
The PDM leaders are expected to ride a special container for the protest.
The PML-N leadership has directed the party’s Rawalpindi organisation including MNAs, MPAs, and ticket-holders to bring a maximum number of people to the protest venue to show its strength on January 19.
