Pakistani TV and social media personality Waqar Zaka said Monday lashed out at singer Meesha Shafi, claiming she had lied when accusing Ali Zafar of sexual harassment.
Zaka was referring to misreported stories published by the Indian media which claimed Shafi ‘faced’ three years in jail for falsely accusing three years in jail.
“When this all ali Zafar vs #MeeshaShafi started , I guess I was the only media person shouting that Meesha lied and now it’s proved. Females misusing woman card to get foreign funding should be punished and I will make sure this happen,” he tweeted.

It stemmed from a Wall Street Journal (WSJ) story which said the songstress was facing three years in jail IF convicted for the alleged offence.
Shafi had taken to Twitter to point out that the news was false.
“Another day, another campaign spreading false information. Speaking up is WAY MORE EXHAUSTING than being groped. This is why we end up suffering in silence. Sending lots of love and solidarity to all who speak up. It’s hard!” she had tweeted.
