Pakistani actress Mehwish Hayat disclosed on Sunday that she had been appointed as the ambassador of Penny Appeal, a global charity organisation.
Taking to Twitter, the actress announced that she would work for the charity to raise funds to rebuild five schools in Sukkur, Sindh.
“o one of the reasons I am in the UK is to announce that I am joining global charity Penny Appeal as an Ambassador. I will be raising funds to re build 5 schools in Sukkur , Sindh . Please Join me in this quest,” she wrote on Twitter.

The actress appeared on BBC News and spoke about her charity venture.
Mehwish has been garnering praise nowadays for speaking out against Bollywood and Hollywood for their stereotypical portrayal of Pakistanis.
Mehwish had called out Bollywood for portraying Pakistanis as ‘bearded gun-wielding terrorists’ and women as ladies in burqas.
“This is not what we are,” she said.
