Mera Jism Meri Marzi is taking debate away from important issues: Ushna SHah

Pakistani actress Ushna Shah on Saturday requested the people not to fall into the trap of picking sides in the “Mera Jism Meri Marzi” debate, saying that if it was taking the debate away from important issues then it should be done away with.

“If a man told me to shut up on live TV, no matter who he was, no matter how terrible he was, I wouldn’t use vile language, I wouldn’t shame his body. But if the rest of you would do this, to a man OR woman, then that’s on you. Let’s agree to disagree, have a nice day :)⁣,” she wrote as caption on a lengthy Instagram post.

“We must stand together to fight for the rights of many women that Islam grants but much of our society doesn’t,” she said. Let’s not forget our cause over an argument about a slogan,” she added.
