Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) has called quits on one of the longest running medical dramas “Grey Anatomy”. Meredith who has been the central character of the show since season one has now decided to move on Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital after 19 seasons, the first started in 2005.
She began as an intern, became a surgical resident, then attending surgeon, and finally the chief of surgery before closing this chapter. Wondering what’s next for Meredith? She is now moving on from Seattle and shifting to Boston with her three kids.
Previously we saw many casts members from the initial years move on from the show, the latest one being Alex Karev which was played by Justin Chambers and before him, Christina Yang (Sandra Oh) left the show in season 10 and was shown moving to Zurich, Switzerland where she is becomes the owner of a research hospital.
These characters moved on and haven’t been shown in the drama ever since, however that is not the case with Dr Meredith Grey. She will not be completely gone from the show and is expected to be making special appearances here and there. As Meredith herself says in her farewell episode, ‘I’LL PROBABLY BE BACK NEXT WEEK’.
Now once again, new interns Simone Griffith (Alexis Floyd), Mika Yasuda (Midori Francis), Jules Millin (Adelaide Kane), Benson “Blue” Kwan (Harry Shum Jr.) and Lucas Adams (Niko Terho), have been introduced in the plot and we will be seeing them navigating their personal and professional lives at the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.
