PESHAWAR: It was another sad day in Pakistan as a minor girl was raped and murdered on Thursday, her body thrown away by the suspects before she was found.
The minor girl, according to police, was kidnapped and sexually assaulted before she was brutally murdered. Her body, according to doctors, was found with marks of an animal’s claw.
Police arrested eight suspects in connection with the crime. The family of the girl said that they did not harbour enmity with anyone. Dr Maimuna at the district headquarters (DHQ) hospital said that an initial probe confirmed that the minor had been raped.
The girl’s DNA samples have been collected and sent to a forensic laboratory. Police said results are being awaited, adding that a case has been registered against unknown suspects which included the clauses of kidnapping and murder.
According to Inspector General of Police (IGP) Charsadda Sanaullah Abbasi, the police have “gathered some evidence” and the results of the DNA report will take some time.
Meanwhile, a boundary dispute arose between Peshawar and Charsadda police over the Jabba Korona area where the crime took place after which district administration said that the revenue department will survey the area and determine the divide.
