Karachi: Veteran pacer Mohammad Amir has taken an indefinite break from international cricket, saying he cannot play under the current management.
The 28-year-old has not announced retirement, according to a source close to the disgruntled cricketer.
Amir reportedly said that he was unwilling to play under the current set-up led by head coach Misbah-ul-Haq and bowling coach Waqar Younis.
Amir’s reaction came after Waqar Younis criticism of his appearance in T20 leagues.
Amir has been playing T20 franchise leagues and has not taken retirement from Test cricket due to a workload, Waqar said.
Amir had been disappointed after being dropped from the Pakistan squad against Zimbabwe and New Zealand.
