LONDON: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has said that any attempt to drive a wedge between the PML-N and the people will not succeed.
In a Twitter statement on Monday, the former three-time premier, who is on self-exile in London, said that the skyrocketing inflation, poverty and unemployment were crushing the masses who were stumbling for flour, sugar, ghee and medicine.
He wrote: “PML-N has 6 seats out of 500,000 votes and PTI has 26 seats out of 600,000 votes. Who will believe in such a victory of PTI? The manner in which the results of Azad Kashmir and Sialkot were obtained began to emerge even before the days of these elections, and will be further exposed in the days to come.”
Sharif added: “This struggle is not just to win or lose a few seats, but to free ourselves from the slavery of the violators of the Constitution. And to stand in the right direction of history without compromising one’s self-esteem.”
