Beginning to see signs of big progress with Pakistan: Trump tells crowd in India

WASHINGTON: President Donald Trump has said that the United States had a very good relationship with Pakistan.

Addressing a large gathering at Ahmedabad during his trip to India, Trump said: “The US and India are committed to defending its citizens from the threat of radical Islamic terrorism. With this reason since (I have) taken office, my administration is working in a very positive manner with Pakistan to crackdown on the terrorist organisations and militants that operate on Pakistani border.

“Our relationship with Pakistan is a very good one. Thanks to these efforts, we are beginning to see signs of big progress with Pakistan and we are hopeful to reduce tension, greater stability in future and harmony in all of the nations of South Asia,” Trump said.

The visiting US President said India and the US are both victims of terrorism. He said, The United States and India are firmly united in our iron clad resolve to secure our citizens from the threat of radical Islamic terrorism. Both our countries have been hurt by the pain of terrorism and the threat that terrorism brings.

Among the measures taken by the US to eradicate terrorism, Trump said the US has used full force of our military to defeat Islamic State terrorism in Iraq and Syria.
