Pakistan calls for action against BLA perpetrators, sponsor

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has called for bringing perpetrators, organizers, financiers and external sponsors of Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) to justice.

“We have taken note of the designation by the U.S. Administration of the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) as Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT),” a statement by the Foreign Office said.

“BLA remains a proscribed entity in Pakistan since 2006 and in recent times has carried out several terrorist attacks in the country.” “It is hoped that this designation will ensure that BLA’s space to operate is minimized.” it said.

Pakistan urged the international community to take action against those supporting the terrorist group.

“It is important that the perpetrators, organizers, financiers and external sponsors including those glorifying these acts of terror against Pakistan are held accountable and brought to justice.”

The statement came a day after the US designated BLA as a global terrorist outfit for carrying out attacks on Pakistani civilians and security forces in Balochistan.
