ISLAMABAD: Pakistan reported another 2,076 coronavirus cases on Thursday, taking the nationwide tally of infections to 61,227.
According to latest figures released by the National Command and Operation Center, a total of 8483 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours and of them 2076 turned out to be positive.
There are 22,037 cases in Punjab, 24206 in Sindh, 8483 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 3616 in Balochistan, 2015 in Islamabad, 651 in Gilgit-Baltistan, and 219 in Azad Kashmir.
So far 20,231 patients have recovered from the virus while the death toll stands at 1260 with 36 deaths reported during the last twenty-four hours.
Meanwhile, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health Dr Zafar Mirza has urged the factory and mill owners to ensure enforcement of standard operating procedures for the safety of workers from coronavirus.
In a chat with media, Mirza said the incumbent government would not follow the hard policy lines, keeping in view the poor condition of daily wage workers.
However, he said the discussion would be made in the next meeting for adopting smart or selective lockdown policy.
