ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Wednesday reported 75 deaths from the Novel Coronavirus in the last 24 hours, taking the national tally of fatalities to 8,166.
This was the highest single day increase in Covid deaths since July 10.
The number of positive cases in the country surged to 403,311 after another 2,829 people were diagnosed with the deadly disease in the past 24 hours.
Sindh remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of cases followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Punjab has overtaken Sindh in the most number of casualties.
As of December 2, 2020, there are 175,642 coronavirus cases in Sindh, 120,356 in Punjab, 47,701 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 17,215 in Balochistan, 30,748 in Islamabad, 6,982 in Azad Kashmir and 4,667 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
