Pakistan records another 148 deaths, 4044 cases

ISLAMABAD: At least 148 people have died in Pakistan from the novel coronavirus in the last 24 hours, officials said.

It brings the nationwide fatalities from the Covid-19 to 3, 903, according to figures updated by the National Command and Operation Center.

Meanwhile, 4, 044 new positive cases have been reported from across the country over the past 24 hours, taking the tally to 192, 970.

A total of 21, 835 tests were conducted on Thursday and of them 4,044 turned out to be positive.

So far, 81, 383 people have fully recovered from the deadly disease while 3, 003 remain critical in various health facilities.

Sindh remains the worst-hit province with 74, 070 cases, followed by Punjab which has recorded 71, 191 cases. There are 23, 887 cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 11710 in Islamabad, 9817 in Balochistan, 1365 in Gilgit Baltistan and 930 in Azad Jammu and kashmir.
