Pakistan reports 1974 new virus cases, 30 deaths

ISLAMABAD: At least 1974 new coronavirus cases, including 30 deaths, have been reported in Pakistan over the last 24 hours.

According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 1,974 people tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday, taking the nationwide tally to 42, 125.

There are presently 15,346 coronavirus in Punjab, 16,377 in Sindh, 6,061 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 2,692 in Balochistan, 997 in Islamabad, 540 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 112 in Azad Kashmir.

A total of 11,922 patients have so far recovered from the virus.

PM to launch cash assistance program

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan is scheduled to launch Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program for those rendered jobless due to coronavirus.

Over three billion rupees have so far been collected in the Corona Relief Fund. On the instructions of the Prime Minister, government will contribute four rupees for every rupee donated to the fund.

Donations to the relief fund as well as release of funds from it is being done in a transparent manner.
