ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has taken an important step in buying coronavirus vaccine shots from China, according to sources.
Sources said the country has signed a deal with Chinese company Sinopharm to buy vaccines while the country is in talks with another Chinese company to buy other doses of the vaccine.
The Pakistani government, over the past couple of months, has been criticised severely for not buying coronavirus vaccines when other countries in the region, India especially, have bought millions of doses for its population.
Pakistan has already started a coronavirus vaccination drive to ensure its frontline healthcare workers and elderly population is vaccinated against the disease.
